Day Out With Thomas

Thursday the boys and I went to Birmingham. We went along with some of friends to see Thomas the Tank Engine. We ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and stayed in one hotel room - all six of us. Everyone did great. Several people at the hotel looked at us and all the kids and told us we were "brave!" Friday morning, we woke up early and spent the day with Thomas in Calera, Al. We took Bo and Buddy two years ago when Bo was two and Buddy was four months old. I think both boys had a better time this year (although it was great then). Here are pictures from our day!

Spring Break Week

Here are a few pictures from last week. Spring Break was pretty laid back for us. We didn't do too much. We are ready for Bo to go back to school tomorrow! Buddy is ready to play without being bothered. Bo is ready to see his friends! I am ready to go to the grocery store with one boy instead of two.

By the end of the day, we are all ready for Will to come home from the hospital.

I copied Scarlett and made these cupcakes. Not a good picture, but the cupcakes turned out great. We gave them away to our neighbors and ate a few ourselves.

Easter Sunday

We tried to go to Church at the St. Louis Catherdral. Once we made it there, it was too crowded. I thought we may at least get some good family pictures in front of the Church. It didn't happen. These were the only pictures I got of my precious family. Sunday was a very "trying" day for the boys. After staying up until past 10 on Friday and Saturday nights, somebody was crying constantly on Sunday. Maybe I'll try to get some pictures next Sunday!

Happy Easter! Once again, we went to New Orleans with the Reinschmiedts and now the Ramseys. We had a great time as usual. The weather was beautiful and the food was excellent. New Orleans has been an Easter tradition for many years - at least since I was in junior high. My dad, my brother and I all ran in the Crescent City Classic. The first time I ran in the CCC was in 1998. One year it was so hot, my brother suffered from heat exhaustion. Last year it was freezing and I forgot my running shoes so I had to run in my Merrell's. This year was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. I was interviewed after the race by the Times-Picayune. Surprisingly, they used my quotes. I should have lied about my time and about my age. Sunday, we stopped in Brookhaven to see Will's sister and her family. It was a great way to end Easter.

Easter Egg Hunt At Laurel Park

We had our annual Residents' and Fellows' Spouses Alliance Easter Egg Hunt today at Laurel Park. We could not have asked for better weather and the kids had a blast!

After the Egg Hunt, the children just played at the park. If you haven't been to Laurel Park before, you should go. Planet Weekly named it the #1 park in Jackson. We are so lucky to have it just down the street from our house.

The boys filled up on candy, cookies, brownies and the party staple, Goldfish.

I had to get a picture with the boots. Will went to the park before Church to reserve the Pavillion. He said it was pretty muddy so Bo wore his boots. No big deal, every kid has a pair of favorite rubber boots. Bo's are just two sizes two big and have lobsters on them. An older boy was trying to scare Bo on the playground. Bo said, "I'm not scared of you. Look, lobster boots." Probably not funny if you don't know his little personality, but definitely something that he would say.

Buddy is excited to find out that candy is hidden inside the eggs. He is a sneaky little booger. I don't know how many pieces of candy he's eaten since we've been home. He'll find a piece and run to another room to eat it and come back with sticky fingers.

Team Awesome!

Bo had his second soccer game today. The name of his team is "Team Awesome." One of the other little boys on his team gave them the name. Don't you love it? They are awesome and they are so much fun to watch play. They finally got their uniforms today in the middle of the game. Notice the uniform change. Bo scored two goals today. After the first goal, he yelled, "YES!" After the second goal, he danced in a circle. Pretty funny. Both teams won. It was fun day. I gave Buddy a Blow Pop to keep him entertained during the game. Once the Blow Pop was gone, he was ready to join Team Awesome on the field. Poor baby, he always wants to do whatever Bo is doing. He loves his brother.
